Neymar will not travel with the Brazil squad to Philadelphia for their second World Cup group game against Haiti as he recovers from a calf injury, the Brazilian Football Association said.
The association said on Thursday that Neymar will remain in New Jersey to complete the final stage of his recovery, using the facilities at The Ridge hotel and the Columbia Park training centre.
Neymar was seen training with the squad on Wednesday after warming up separately, having previously been limited to indoor work with physiotherapists and fitness coaches as Brazil took a cautious approach to his return. He injured his right calf during a 3-0 defeat for his club Santos against Coritiba last month.
The five-time World Cup champions began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Morocco on Saturday and have one point. Meanwhile, Haiti are bottom of the group after losing to Scotland.
